Carina'da Bir Yıldız Kümesi ve BulutsusuA Cluster and Nebula in Carina

Büyük Carina Bulutsusu'nun komşuluğunda, daha az bilinen ama çok hareketli bir bölge. Parlak genç küme NGC 3572, çevresindeki hidrojen bulutunu iyonlaştırır; kümenin rüzgârı gazı iterek kırmızı bulutsuda kıvrımlı kenarlar ve koyu damlacıklar oluşturur.

1 metrelik bir teleskopla çekilen bu görüntü, kümenin yıldızlarını ve bulutsunun dokusunu aynı anda gösterir. Buradaki yıldızlar Güneş'ten çok daha kütlelidir ve kısa yaşayacaktır.

Next door to the great Carina Nebula lies a less famous but very active region. The bright young cluster NGC 3572 ionises the hydrogen cloud around it; the cluster's wind pushes the gas, producing rippled edges and dark globules in the red nebula.

Taken with a 1-metre telescope, the image shows the cluster's stars and the nebula's texture at the same time. The stars here are far more massive than the Sun and will live short lives.
